Sunday Sunday #3

22. November 2009

If you stroll down Columbia Road further after the Flower Market, you’ll find this amazing place called Vintage Heaven. They sell vintage pottery there, but in the back of the shop there’s “Cake Hole” – one of the most beautiful cafés one can imagine.

It is only open on weekends, run by a family, and is a great place to have breakfast after visiting Columbia Road Flower Market.

The decoration is just lovely, and it is probably the only place in the world where walls decorated with embroidery design don’t look completely horrible. Embroidery just belongs there.

The pottery doesn’t match, but that just makes it the lovely place it is.

Another reason why having breakfast at Cake Hole is a good idea for a Sunday morning are the self-made cakes. And cupcakes. Come early, otherwise they will be gone already.

Oh yeah.
